TERMS OF TECHNOLOGY

The generational gap in terms of technology is very apparent between my parents and me. To them, data storage devices would be file cabinets. It would be either or a Rolodex. To my generation, the term data storage device could mean so many different things. The first thing that would come to mind is a computer. I have tons of my personal information, research, work and fun stored away on my computer. The next thing that comes to mind when I think of data storage devices is an external hard drive. I use my external hard drive to keep my computer’s hard drive open, which makes sure that it runs as fast as possible. I keep my entire music collection on my external hard drive, as well as all of my photographs. I have a lot of pictures too, since as part of my job I get photo passes for music festivals. I also keep all of my old work on my external hard drive. I do some graphic design, and never really know if an old client is going to need any of the designs or want new work done. I also use flash drives a lot to store data. They have really replaced the disc in terms of computer data storage.
