ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
I check my email compulsively. I put aside all my Chicago marketing online projects at work and even ask my girlfriend to call me back on the phone to check my email. I don’t know what it is. Most of the time, I don’t have any new email. Then again, if you check every fifteen minutes, you’re not going to seeing that much new email. I just have this overwhelming urge to read all new emails right away and respond. I do the same thing with text messages on my phone. Right away, I have to read them. I feel like I have no choice in the matter. And I have to respond even if it’s not really a text you can write a decent response to. Even if I’m driving. Have you ever tried to type out a text message while you’re driving? It’s worse than talking on the phone while you’re driving, which is illegal within the limits of the city of Chicago. Luckily, I don’t even try to keep my computer on in the car or I’d be trying to type up email messages as well. How does my computer stay online when I’m in my car you might ask? I have a really good, really powerful online connection. It never fails me.
