    Fireplace Remodel project

Tony was very thorough and organized in his transactions and getting the work done as per his contractual agreement.
Due to pandemic the whole process could have taken longer than expected. Many materials that we had to provide were not available within shorter time but Tony ensured his team completed the job satisfactorily.

He also helped us with additional jobs which was not part of the contract. We sincerely appreciate the work he did for us.

Dennis who is his Supervisor definitely needs an additional mention for his talent and ability to turn things around with ease.

We hope to get more work done through Tony Tran in the future as well.

    Whole house renovation

Our project was a full renovation of our 3 story townhouse: originally built in the mid-80's, and literally everything needed updating. Removing soffits in the kitchen and bathrooms to raise the ceilings, installing hardwood floors throughout, refinish walls and ceilings to level 5 (goodbye unsightly stucco), complete redo of the kitchen and bathrooms, recessed lighting throughout the house, new stair railing and banisters, installing a whole house fan, upgrading our sub-panel, replacing all the doors, etc. We also had some structural work done, such as tearing down a dividing wall, building out a master bedroom walk-in closet, and building a pony wall by our entry way. And of course, all the issues you didn't plan on, such as ceilings and walls that aren't level, changes in design plans, etc. Tony and his crew did all the work, from demo to installation of all finished materials and fixtures, and I have to say that they did an outstanding job - the finished product exceeded our expectations. We trusted Tony to execute our 'once in a lifetime' home remodel, and he did not disappoint.

If you're in the market for home remodeling, one of the most important decisions you'll make is in selecting a contractor to oversee and execute your project. While we had been planning our remodel for some time, finding the right contractor was for us the most difficult part. We eventually turned to BuildZoom for some help, and were able to narrow the field to four contractors, including Tony. We visited project sites for all four to review their work and speak with clients, and were confident that all four were qualified. What set Tony apart from the others however was his genuine nature, the pride he exuded in his work and going the extra mile, and the importance he placed on customer satisfaction.

Over the course of our project we were in constant communication with Tony and his crew. Weekly meetings on site with Tony and our designer, and ad-hoc meetings as needed - sometimes quite frequently. Whether it was Tony or someone on his team, they were always available and responsive. It gave us great peace of mind to know that if there was ever an issue, we would be able to work through it immediately. And of course with a project of this scope, there will be issues. What matters though is how issues are handled. With Tony, if you're concerned then he's concerned. And if you're not satisfied, then neither is he. He will go the extra mile to make sure you're happy, and if mistakes are made he'll make them right. A good example was the tile flooring in our powder room. One of his crew mistakenly used a thicker hardi-backer than called for. This didn't become apparent until after the tile floor was finished, and the wood floor outside installed. The two floors were offset by a 1/4" height difference. Working with our designer we came up with a workaround using a stone transition trim. Tony however decided the right thing to do was to re-do the entire powder room floor, at his cost, including purchasing the additional tile needed. Tony takes pride in his work product, and it shows.

Also requiring recognition is Tony's outstanding team. I have to believe he has some of the best in the trade working for him, and they were all very professional and easy to work with. Tu and Loc were there almost every day and installed most of our fixtures, the electrical, kitchen backsplash and fireplace tiles, lights, etc., Andy installed our kitchen cabinets, baseboards, and casings, Marcos did the tile work in our bathrooms, Tabo fabricated our natural stone countertops and waterfall island, Jenny painted throughout the house, (another) Tu crafted the stair railing and banisters, and Alfonso did the level 5 work. Given the duration of our project it's important that you're able to work well with the team, and I'm happy to say we got to know them all by name and genuinely enjoyed working with them. As you would hope, they all cared about their work product and our satisfaction.

Overall, we're very happy we found Tony and had him on our project. His integrity, know-how, and emphasis on a job well done make all the difference. That, and the excellent team he has assembled around him. We would highly recommend him for any of your remodeling needs.

    addition and remodel
    $140,000
    Verified Hire

Tony did quality work for a 450sq ft addition and more than 200 sq ft of remodel. Tony is very easy going in dealing with people. On work side he and his team is aggressive. Whole framing for addition was done in 2 days. He (working with Ben) lined up inspections beforehand to meet the completion dates and all inspections passed without issues. He did work for whole house going beyond contract without charging extra e.g floor replacement, interior paint, gutters, floor trim, exterior paint. Contract was only for changed/added area
Tony was also flexible on his bid price (matched a lower bid) and agreed to add more items. I had a larger design change (taking down a load bearing wall ) towards the end and Tony made it possible by working it out with structural engineer.
The project took 5 months (design change added 15-20 days more) and I am happy about the new addition turned out exactly and even better than planned

    Bathroom Remodel
    $20,000

Tony Tran Construction (TTC): Performed an executive level remodel of our guest bathroom. This involved: full demolition and installation of: a new vanity, toilet and shower, scone lights in vanity mirror and ceiling can lights. TTC also installed a linear drain in shower and minor relocation of sewer for toilet. Adjacent to the full glass shower is a new pony wall, constructed from an original bathroom wall. This required moving switch circuitry for the bathroom lights and fan. The entire bathroom, shower and floor is finished off in Italian tile. TTC moved a tankless water heater from a closet, adjacent to the shower, into the ceiling, and finished off the closet by painting to match original. Additionally, we had a water softener installed to supply the whole house.

During our first meeting with Tony Tran (business owner), he took careful notes on all of the details of this project. When we requested a quote, he said that he had to first spec out the labor for us. After one week, we had a detailed punch list of the work with the labor cost stated for each line item, the total labor cost and list of items that we must shop for, and what places to go. While we were waiting for Tony’s quote we met with another contractor for a competing bid. The major difference here was that the 2nd contractor stated a higher price for our bathroom remodel, and quickly invited us to his showroom to discuss a contract. He didn’t say up front that his quote only included labor. But upon seeing a punch list with no individual costs for labor, and a listing of several material items that we must buy separately, outside of his quoted price, we became suspicious. This is the standard for all contractors, but we were allowed to believe that materials were included in the bid. We were also felt pressure to sign which we ultimately did not. This distinction between these businessmen is important. Since contractor skills in the bay area are in so high demand, we felt that these pressure tactics were standard behavior. Indeed, another contractor required a $1500 retainer to pay for working with their consultant to design plans. None of these tactics were used by Tony Tran. Without conditions, he gave us the most detailed proposal and provided time to consider. His labor prices are neither the lowest, nor the highest, but the quality of his work is absolutely superb!

Tony’s crew of contractors were dedicated to their skill. They are professionals that when accessing my house were always respectful. At key points of the project, if they were uncertain about how we wanted the installation to look they would ask, such as options on installing the tile, or hidden problems with the original construction being out of code. We were always kept in the loop. They advised us on including a water softener to protect our investment from hard water on the glass shower and tile job. They paid attention to the finest details. Eventually when we fully remodel our home, Tony Tran Construction will have the job. At this time, I see no need to shop around for other contractors.

    Condo Remodel
    $65,000

Supremely talented! I worked with Tony and his team for a Full Remodel of my Silicon Valley home and the results were transformational! Custom tile installation, waterfall counters, wood beams - Tony’s team does it all, true craftsmen. Finding this kind of world class talent in the Bay Area is unusual. You benefit from the fact that he has a crew of specialists. I needed additional electrical, custom tile in the kitchen and bathroom, and a uniquely framed fireplace. Tony had all of these people.

    Electrical work.
    $100

    Dear Reader:

If you are looking for genuine customer service, contact Tony Tran Construction. Tony is dedicated to providing excellent customer service. A lot of businesses talk about customer service, but either do not understand the concept or know how to practice it. Tony on the contrary both understands and practices customer service at an exceptional level.

Yesterday, the A/C went out at the Women's Care for Life Medical Clinic. Tony was contacted because he is the original contractor that built out the new office suite. He sent his crew to the office suite the same day, after business hours, to diagnose the problem. The crew returned the next day at 8:30 AM to work on the problem. With less than two hours of work on the job, his crew had the A/C up and working again.

Note, the A/C was out since the weekend and these recent days all have been 100 degrees plus weather. Women's Care for Life was on the verge of rescheduling patients, because of the extreme heat in the exam rooms. Needless to say, Tony's superb customer service avoided Women's Care for Life from further inconveniencing its patients as a result of the failed A/C.

I am sure you agree, Tony deserves 5 stars for his excellent customer service extended to Women's Care for Life.

    Best regards,
    Management

    Whole House Renovation

    Whole House Renovation
It's been way overdue to have the pleasure to write this review. We have a multiple thousands square feet home that needed an overhaul, renovation and remodeling for the entire interior including walls, flooring, lighting, electrical, plumbing, hardware, and bathrooms. Price is no concern but the criteria of our contractor had to be able to start our project in a reasonable time and be able to finish the entire project in three to four months on an agreeable deadline. Needless to say, he needs to meet our high standards and expectations, pay attention to details, have the experience, have good reviews, and be able to tailor to the client's specific needs and demands.
From the initial meeting, we found Tony very professional, calm, easygoing, and knowledgeable. He told us he can do whatever we want because he is a contractor, and that's true, because he can help us to fix anything in and out of the house even in the yard and the roof beside the remodeling.
One of the best experiences we had working with Tony was you deal with him only as the contractor and owner of the company. We didn't have to deal with receptionist to take messages in a big company and hope the contractor or your point of contact will call you back. Another extremely important attribute was Tony only works on one project at a time. In other words, you have his and his whole crew members attention to work on yours and only your project at the time. We didn't have to worry about nightmares we heard about some contractors working on multiple projects at the same time, so after they started your project they disappeared for a while to work on other projects and let you hang out there for periods of time.
We purchased a lot of the items and fixtures ourselves. However, when we needed to find a good vendor for our floor and counter materials, Tony had referred us to wonderful vendors with great selections. At our request, he also kindly accompanied us out of his busy schedule to help us finalize the selections. Icing on the cake was he voluntarily and generously passed on his contractor discounts to us that we never expected and heard of before.
We also requested to touch base with Tony on a daily basis which he was more than happy to accommodate. Sometimes he even delayed or skipped his dinner to meet us. He was always available by phone call or text in between.
During our project, there were more than a handful of things come up that were unforeseen, and Tony was more than willing to help us to fix. He didn't even charge us for numerous of those projects!
When time came to finish up the project on time, Tony even paid his crew extra to work on Sundays and brought in extra personnel to help out to meet the deadline. Needless to say, Tony finished the project on time. The outcome was exquisite and wonderful. We got a lot of great comments from our friends and family.
Shortly after the project, one of the small pipes on a new fixture broke and was leaking. We called Tony for help, he sent two of his crew within hours the same day to fix the situation. That's excellent customer service! Tony also said after we settled down, he will come back to touch up scratches or marks on the wall for us. However, life is always so busy and we have yet to contact Tony to take up his offer.
Overall, our experience with Tony was extremely smooth and we are more than satisfied. He is professional, yet down to earth, always available and most importantly finished the project on time. He treats us like his family and his crew are easy to work with and are always willing to help and satisfy our requests. We can tell he loves what he does and he cares about his customers. Needless to say, we highly recommend Tony for any contractor works.

Convert existing bathroom to bedroom and add bathroom project

The project involved converting an existing Master Bathroom to a Bedroom and by framing, moving walls of a walk in closet to create a bathroom. Tony was fantastic, great communication, for a 4 week project he came in a week ahead of schedule. On budget and he also took care of a couple of issues that cropped up once we opened up the walls. I would highly recommend him and his crew if you are looking to do internal remodels.

    roof, kitchen remodel, HVAC
    $40,000

I highly recommend Tony Tran Construction. He is calm and pleasant throughout the project, and even during challenging times. He is quick to fix any misunderstandings, and to do the work the way the client requests.

We worked with him and his company on a roofing project, pitching a flat room and creating an attic, installing a central HVAC system, and remodeling the kitchen. He stayed on budget, and finished when he said he was going to. Any changes to the cost was due to my change orders. His team was polite and we didn't have any problems with their work ethic.

He was thoughtful to our needs and throughout the project.

    Kitchen and family room remodel

We like Tony and his team a lot. We have three small children and a dog, so it was important that they were very professional and cleaned up after themselves daily. They were very diligent in taping, lining and or covering entry ways, doors, and windows to help prevent much of that construction dust from flowing through the rest of the house. I like how they didn't leave their tools laying around after they've left for the day. It helped kept our children safe.

We trusted them as we came and gone during the remodeling of our kitchen and family room while they worked. They were respectful to our home, children and neighborhood. To boot, when they had to leave doors open to air out, bring in, or what not, they knew to keep an eye on our dog so she wouldn't wonder off.

I would totally recommend Tony to friends and family, and in fact I have already started referring them to Tony. The only downside is how busy Tony is and to get on his calendar, but that's how it is when you do really good quality work and do it well!

We articulated our vision of what we wanted as best we could and Tony was able to translate that with their work. We were able to better utilized our home's layout with the breakfast nook/bar, kitchen island to share our day's ups and downs over a glass of wine or something stronger, and a fireplace that is actually functional for us. It totally opened up the kitchen, family and living rooms.

We moved back into the kitchen and family room and life is beautiful!

    Bathroom Remodel project

Bathroom remodel from July 29 to august 13 (scheduled date of completion). Tony is honest, trustworthy and he really cared about the customers. He always replied to my texts and phone calls promptly. We live in an apartment complex on Rio Verde Place in Milpitas. Our home has 3 bedrooms and only 1 bath with 4 adults and 3 children. When Tony first came to our place, he told me the bathroom remodel would take 2 weeks to complete and he said that we would not have any place to take a bath during the construction. We booked a hotel stay for 2 weeks from July 29th to Aug13th. Tony helped us getting the approvals for the HOA and City of Milpitas Permit. Knowing that we are in a tight schedule plus the hotel expenses. Tony and his employees started the demolition on Sunday July 29th and they worked around the clock to finish everything on Aug 9th saving us 3 nights of Hotel stay. One thing that impressed me the most was all inspections passed without any correction notices. Before we start, Tony took us to several places to choose materials and he personally picked them up and delivered to our home. Our family really enjoys the new bathroom and we are getting a lot of compliments from our friends and neighbors. Tony and his guys thought outside of the box to complete the job. Kudos to Tony Tran Construction for a job well done and finish 3 days ahead of promised schedule."

Tony helped us with a small kitchen project, which was beautifully completed in last Dec. Last week I found out there's an issue with our "bathroom" electricity, I called Tony for help, and he came to the rescue. In fact, Tony came in twice to completely finish the problem, which was originally done by another contractor. Not to mention, FREE of Charge. This shows Tony's integrity and heart for his customer! Thank you much, Tony~ I will definitely hire you for more projects in the future.

Tony Tran added a new bathroom to our house and remodeled our kitchen. I have worked with many contractors over the last 15 years and Tony is by far the BEST. His prices are VERY FAIR, his work is outstanding and he is very timely & prompt. The best part is that he always answers his phone. Always.

Tony has superb attention to detail and will not leave any small thing unfinished. I would give him instructions on how we wanted things, and he would do exactly as told. No confusion and great execution, which is rare for a contractor. I remember working with other contractors and being disappointed in the final outcome. Tony has an amazing crew - everything from plumbing, electrical, flooring, painting and general construction is covered. Tony also handled the city permitting & inspection process without any extra costs or headaches. He knows his way around city rules and regulations and was able to get us approvals without a single hitch.

Tony does not nickel and dime you - he takes care of small things without being told. He noticed that the bathroom door will not match the adjacent door, so he put in a new door - for free. He noticed we have a leaky water main valve - fixed, also for free. As our job was wrapping up we asked for a few small things here and there and he willingly obliged. Remove an old ceiling fan, move the old fridge to the garage - he did it all with a smile - no complaints ever.

We were VERY happy working with Tony and highly recommend him to anyone looking to remodel. You will not be disappointed.

Unprofessional Contractor with full of excuses

This contractor is a flake, unprofessional and lack of common business etiquette in my opinion.
He was matched for my ADU project... he called, I replied same day... we talked briefly on phone and he asked for my address (which should already been listed as project details on my buildzoom profile!) and then he was GoNE!
I didn’t really care since I was matched with so many other professionals who were courteous, thorough and extremely professional... all of them came to my home and discussed in length about my project.
Weeks went by, I accidentally saw this contractor on Yelp and read reviews on similar experience other people had with this guy... I was stunned.. apparently this guys “profiles” his clients and only deals with certain type of neighborhoods.... I felt compelled to write a review even though I already reported to BuildZoom consultant about him.
I can’t really speak on the quality of his work but just on the business etiquette, he fails at that, inability to follow through and communicate with clients... there’s a complete lack of respect for my time and the potential opportunity to do business with me.

Then, miraculously I received his message with excuses that his designer or whoever was on vacay... and it was only weeks that he didn’t respond... wow! All I can say is this is a bad way to do business.. I will surely adddress this with BuildZoom to screen their contractors better!

    Foundations project

We hired Tony Tran to repair the foundation on our 103 year old house, he did an excellent job and we very happy! When he looked at the job he was here on time, took his time to inspect the foundation and told us what he thought was needed. His solution was simpler and less expensive then the other three contractors who looked at the foundation.
When he did the job he was clear about what we should expect and his crew did the job on time and on budget. They were very nice and clean. Although Tony had to leave town on a family issue he was careful to keep in touch with us and he inspected the job when it was done.
We would be happy to hire him again.

    Build Out Medical Practice

Tony Tran Construction is highly recommended for commercial jobs. He has a calm way of managing complex projects, while always displaying a smile even during the most challenging times of the project.

Tony relocated the Women's Care for Life medical clinic from Los Gatos to a new location in San Jose under a very tight deadline. He came in under budget and on time. Tony also took on aspects of the project that were slated for other contractors. For instance, the job was faced with high architecture fees and an exorbitant sewage line cost. Tony's involvement got both projects quickly under control as well as under budget.

The City of San Jose's permit process was very lengthy, with onerous requirements. Due to Tony's tenacity, the final permit eventually was obtained, and most importantly without passing on unexpected cost to the medical practice.

Tony's value-add is his strong desire to first-and-foremost complete the job in a high quality manner. There were several surprise enhancements to the medical practice, e.g. Bluetooth switch5/USB charger in the exam rooms, Quartz counter tops at receptionist/nurse stations, etc.

One day, while in an exam room, Tony asked the medical practice's doctor would she like to hear Whitney Houston. Given that there was not any CD player or music system in the exam room, the doctor asked Tony -- "how?" Next, Tony pared his cell phone with the Bluetooth switch in the exam room and Whitney Houston's "The Greatest Love of All" began to play over the speaker. The doctor was overcome by tears and she hugged Tony and said "I am speechless -- I can't believe what you have done for my new practice".

Needless to say, Tony by far is not your typical contractor. He is very personable and eager to exceed the client's expectation.

On behalf of the doctor and I, Tony Tran Construction is highly recommended!

The project started out months ago as a retile job. Since then it evolved into a full ADA compliant upgrade and Tony Tran Construction easily handled the changes. During the removal of old tile, rotted wood was discovered, and the crew quickly rebuilt the floor, they replaced all the walls and ceiling as well will new sheetrock. The bathtub was the next hurdle, Tony suggested a new ADA shower, ADA toilet and new sink. Along the way Tony was able to include several items at no charge. Then the finishing touch was a fabulous bright pink paint to go along with marbled mosaic tiles to complete a 1st class remodel. What a piece of art!

    bathroom remodel
    $11,300

We had our downstairs bathroom remodeled by Tony and his crew last month. The bathroom was completely torn out and they did a fantastic job, transforming it into a beautiful modern one. What I'm most impressed with Tony is his patience and willingness to listen to our concerns and needs and went above and beyond to address and accomplish those. During the course of the project, there are some changes that we requested and he handled those graciously. When we asked him about the cost of having one wall of the bathroom to be tiled (this item is not in the contract) he was happy to do it without even charging us for that. The communication with Tony is a breeze through out the project. He's very responsive and get back to you promptly. I feel, with Tony, customer satisfaction is his number one priority and it comes from his good heart.
Also, I would like to thank his foreman, Chinh, for his excellent skills in tiling, plumbing and his meticulous attention to everything he did during the remodel. Our house was kept clean with the hallway covered with a layer of plastic and everyday the crew started their job with covering the hallway with a another layer of canvas. We interviewed with 4 other contractors before we decided to go with Tony, and we're very happy we made the right choice.

    Bathroom Remodel project

I found Tony Tran Construction through yelp. Like many of you I read through all the reviews and decided to go with Tony. I remodel 2 bathrooms and did some of exterior works in front of the house . It was a stress free experiences. The main guy who worked on the projects was Tu, he was very friendly and detail oriented. He made sure the tiles installed on the shower walls was perfectly symmetry around the shampoo niches. My husband audited his workmanship and there is nothing to complaint about. There were some last minute changes with the vanities , but Tony and and Tu were very patience and accommodating. When Tony and Tu worked on the stucco , they noticed a few hairline cracks and applied one more coat of stucco on the exterior and repainted. We were very satisfied and happy that we picked Tony to work on our house. We got so many compliments from families and friends when you saw the remodels. One last thing I want to compliment is that Tony and his team are very prompt and neat , they showed up at 8 am and cleaned up at the end of everyday by 4 pm. I highly recommend Tony constructions for any home or business renovations.

    Kitchen Remodel
    $100,000

Tony Tran and his team did an Awesome job on my smart home kitchen remodel and I could not be Happier! Being a DIYer, I typically try to do all the renovations myself being that I'm EXTREMELY OCD about the details, workmanship and knowing I can probably do it just as good or better in some case. Also, to avoid the inevitable headache, cost and disappointment when the contractor does not deliver the expected result!

However, this remodel was just way too big which included my entire second floor that need walls knocked down, totally new kitchen, living room, and stair case, and my wife didn't want it to drag on for years, like my last outdoor kitchen project . So I began the months long search for a contractor that will have the same vision, passion, and quality of workmanship that I would do at fair price! No too much to ask right! I'm so lucky I found Tony and his team. His mild manner and easy-going attitude made him a pleasure to work with. This also extended to the guys doing the work. They were all professional, and exhibited the quality of work and attention to detail that every homeowner should DEMAND!

About the tradesmen, Chinh, the foreman, was great. He knew he was in trouble the first day when I broke out my digital level checking the plumb and level of the beams, framing and windows, they put in . I was probably the most discerning homeowner in terms of a "back seat contractor" they have ever seen with hundreds of question and endless changing of plans or coming up with new bright ideas. But Chinh and his team answered every single one and never made me feel like I am being annoying or unrealistic which I can be sometimes.

As I got to know them more and vice versa, we began to joke over my "over involvement" with every detail. I'm sort of a control freak when it comes to people working on my house, but it made it a very enjoyable working environment if you're an "involved in the details" type of home owner as myself. They accommodated all my design ideas for exact placement of lights, outlets and switches, down to moving walls in/out a few inches for my TV, speakers, and various Alexa smart home devices without any trouble. I also learned a great deal more than I though I would which as an added bonus.

Tu, who did my floors and stairs case did an awesome job and came on weekends to for the labor-intensive staining and finishing processes. Tabo who did a fantastic job fabricating my elaborate LED backlite diamond crystal quartzite countertops which took a lot of time to fabricate with precise cuts for the sinks and faucet holes already cut into my LED panel. I could go on and on, but you get the picture. These are highly professional tradesmen who more importantly take pride in their work!

In my experience having had many contractors work on various projects around my home, I've realized that very seldom do contractors meet the very high bar I set for myself when building something with the passion and love that only a homeowner can give, hence I resorted to doing many of the projects myself. However, I have found a team that can produce something that is worthy of my extremely high standards, and if they can satisfy my OCD-ness than surely a normal homeowner will be just as blown away as I have been.

Tony is not the cheapest out there, that is because he pays his guys very well as he should. I found his prices fair and reflect the high quality of work which you will receive. My father being a retired contractor always says, "Good work isn't cheap and Cheap work isn't good" so keep that in mind when selecting a contractor. If you decide to use Tony Tran Construction, you will not be disappointed! You can see my smart home kitchen here in more detail https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjeFYrDaGi8

    Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel
    $50,000

I am 2000% satisfied with Tony. I could give him a 100 stars if I could. He and his team did a super awesome job on my home. We remodeled the kitchen, half bathroom, painted the interiors and exterior, added stone panels on the exterior and in the fireplace. Basically we did a bunch of things. We wanted this house to be our dream house and Tony helped us fulfill this dream. I cannot even express in words about how satisfied we are with Tony. He actually accommodated us in his packed schedule since we needed the project complete ASAP.

He is a true gentleman. I have spoken to so many contractors but Tony is totally on a different level. He is so patient with everything and never ever he has argued with us. He will just do about everything to satisfy his customers. He answers his phone all the time( all the time, weekends evenings anytime). Even if he misses your call he will call you right back. He even answered my phone when he was on vacation and he constantly replied back to my texts. I am amazed as to how to he does this.

Now coming to the pricing. Tony's prices are very fair and reasonable compared to the market. We could not have done this project since we had a budget set in our minds. Also to add Tony did a lot of things for free.I don't think anyone really does that nowadays. Tony really cares about his customers a lot and does not differentiate between small or big job. He just wants to make customers happy. He treats everyone with respect.

We could not be more happier with the way everything turned out. Our house completely looks different and new. This goes for anyone looking to remodel their house "TONY IS THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS!! THE BEST".

He did it again! Tony Tran and his crew transformed our 1970s style kitchen into a beautiful modern kitchen with a marvelous waterfall island overlooking our front yard. This is the heart of the home; the kitchen is mostly-used room in the house, so Tony incorporates practical, stylish interiors that stand the test of time into a multi-functional space. My husband and I love the way Tony designs out kitchen layout – it is quite staggering - encompassing the open kitchen-plan, scullery, and a little nook for breakfast. We love the simplicity of the design and how it captures the quintessentially classic English style, but more importantly, it suits the family’s needs perfectly.

The labor requires a lot of work from the team, as Tony had to break down a wall between the kitchen and the living room, build up a stronger beam to support the roof, and diligently remove all the old kitchen cabinets that crowded the kitchen layout. He positions the cabinetry in such a way to provide depth and adds brightness to space and more notably, the classic style cabinetry, provide a balance between old and new. The mix of natural materials used to finish off our kitchen like white quartz countertops, wooden objects, and the copper canisters, ultimately transform our kitchen into a clean and contemporary space with an organic feel!

My husband and I love Tony and his crew. They are kind, thoughtful, and efficient. They always wrap up the day by cleaning the house and making sure that they don’t leave a mess behind. They have worked hard to transform an old style home into a modern home fills with open space and warmth. We are very grateful and thank you Tony and his crew for all their hard work. They did a fabulous job on our home renovation. Thank you, Tony, for making my dream come true. From the bottom of my heart, I am forever grateful that we have met and now enjoying the beautiful home you have built for us as we raise our son and future children up in this beautiful house you created for us.

    $4,000

My husband and I used Buildzoom to submit a bit for our tiles flooring and after an intensive interviewing process with 6 general contractors in the Bay Area, we chose Tony Tran, Inc. His craftsmanship is EXCELLENT and his price is also very fair. He went out his way to explain to us the different types of flooring and what he thinks should work best for our home and pricing. We really appreciate him and his crew. Tony is wonderful to work with and everyone should meet this man and his crew. All hands are up when Tony Tran is in the house! Simply the very best, and my husband and I are very grateful for his help!

After searching for contractors to renovate my newly purchased home, I found Tony on Yelp. Even though he was not available immediately he took the time to answer all my questions on the phone and referred me to find someone reliable on Buiildzoom.

After reviewing and talking to a couple of contractors, Tony came across as someone I can trust. You can tell from the first meeting that he is passionate about what he does, he extends his passion as Jet Pilot to what he does now, he is extremely detail oriented and he cares about the customers.

My first project started with a quick call to get his advise, the best quote I received for complete repiping from a vendor turned out to be not so good.

    1. The brand of the hot water heater offered by the vendor was the cheapest in the market and it covers 6 year warranty. Noticing my struggle to find a reliable contractor Tony offered to take on the project, he replaced the water header with The Platinum Series Hot Water Heater with 12 years warranty and saved me me $2,000 on this project alone.

    2. When he fist saw my house he noticed the lack of insulation and said that the second floor will get hot during summer. And true to his statement when the temperatures went over 90s the heat was unbearable for my family, Tony again came to the rescue and installed High Efficiency Furnace and Air Conditioning unit in a day. You read that right in a day.

I have few more projects including a Kitchen remodeling schedule in the coming months. We are really glad we found someone we can trust.

    2 bathrooms, kitchen, flooring
    $50,000

We were looking for a contractor to help remodel 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, a small bar area and replace all the flooring and paint our downstairs. After reading Tony’s reviews, we thought he would be the best fit for us, but had to do our due diligence and contacted 5 other contractors. 3 never called back, 1 charged $300 just to come do an estimate, and the last guys estimate was way over our budget. There are 3 main reasons why I will work with Tony again and am happy to recommend him.

    1) He won’t nickle and dime you. His estimates are clear and prices reasonable, and if there’s a minor change or additional work that needs to be done, often he’ll complete it without charging. He replaced the upstairs bathroom window and added laminate flooring to the small steps that connect our garage to the house, all without charge. I’ve heard horror stories of contractors that for every little change or unexpected issue that comes up, they add it to the contract and the cost just racks up. This didn’t happen with Tony.

    2) His guys work hard and do a good job. Young, was with our project the entire time and did an excellent job on the tile work in our bathrooms. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail is top notch. Furthermore, they were at our house from 9am to 5pm every weekday and often Saturdays, working on the project, keeping it on and usually ahead of schedule.

    3) Tony really cares about customer satisfaction. There would be minor things we caught for example, a paint edge wasn’t quite as clean, a certain tile had a stain and we wanted to use another one - and we just had to mention it to Tony and his crew and they would happily fix it. Communication was very good, as Tony is quick to return emails or calls during the work. After the project was finished he even paid for some professional cleaners to come clean every room we remodeled, all free of charge! It just goes to show you how much Tony cares.

Please keep in mind however, that our remodel did not involve structural changes. We did not need to knock any walls down, or add square footage. Even the kitchen layout was kept mostly the same. However, I know Tony’s team has done it all so don’t hesitate to contact him for projects more complicated than ours. Also, keep in mind that we didn’t expect Tony to do everything. There were times where I purchased materials and he would reimburse me. The wife and I went ourselves to the tile shops and paint stores to choose materials and paint colors. We worked with the cabinet provider ourselves to design the kitchen. Tony was available to answer questions, but he didn’t physically go shopping with us, although he probably will if you want him to. However, given how busy he is, we preferred to do it ourselves and save him time so that our project could start sooner and finish sooner. All I’m saying is, we were proactive in designing our remodel and making sure materials were ready so that the project went smoothly. There are contractors that will hold your hand through everything (design, shopping, etc.) but your project will likely cost way more and take way longer.

Overall, I am so happy to found Tony and avoided all those horror stories of working with contractors. I highly recommend him and plan on using him again for our master bathroom later down the line.

After many months of researching and interviewing different contractors across the Bay Area, we stumbled upon Tony Tran Construction when browsing Yelp.com. While we did not know who Tony Tran is nor his work, our attention was captured by his excellent works through the many different projects that he worked on for his clients. As we research more about Tony Tran Construction through BuildZoom, we became more impressed with not only Tony's deliverables, but his clientele, customer feedbacks, and also his astonishing ratings. He ranks as the top 1% contractor out of nearly 400 contractors in the Bay Area. For someone who merely just been in the construction business for a decade, this is an impressive achievement given the competitive housing landscape here in California.

Following our phone conversation with Tony, we became more impressed with who he is --personable, approachable, and certainly a man with great values and principles about life. Nonetheless, since we live in the Marin, which is nearly 50 miles one-way from where most of Tony’s designated assignments are, we knew it would be difficult for Tony to accept our home renovation. Upon hearing our story, Tony’s heart is touched, and he agreed to help us; We were expecting our first child, so we want to work with someone whom we can trust, bring us a peace of mind, and able to meet our timeline. Tony was that person for us; Our child arrived early, so Tony took on the project and finished it quickly and accordingly. His attention to details is second to none, and his work is beautiful.

Like my husband and I, if you are looking for a contractor who is a perfectionist, great attention to details, trustworthy, and ability to meet the deadline, Tony is the perfect candidate for the job. I highly recommend Tony Tran Construction!

P.S. We are so grateful for Tony and his crew, for not only their beautiful work but also hard work. They travel 100 miles a day, patiently sit through the horrific traffics going from San Jose to Mill Vally, and vice versa. We truly appreciate all their help and had asked if Tony could take on the rest of the house renovation projects (i.e., kitchen, additional bathroom, deck, master bedroom, and bonus room) for us!

Add 2 beds 3 baths 1 play room

We found Tony Tran from a co-worker’s refer and we are very glad we did. We wanted to build 840 square feet room addition in the back of our home, added another bathroom plus replacing carpet to laminated floor coverings, added additional A/C unit to 2 bedrooms, replaced all interior doors, baseboards and painted the entire interior to our existing home. After interviewed with couple contractors, we decided to select Tony as our contractor based on his personality and his workmanship on 3 visits to his previous clients. They all said highly of Tony.
We set a deadline for Tony to finish or project in 5 months. If Tony is late, then he must pay a fine of $2500 for each month passing the due date. Tony finished right on schedule. What we impressed the most was we did not have to pay anything upfront until each inspection passed. In addition, each inspection meet all the specs requirement, there was no correction notice given to our project.
Tony is very patience, caring, and understanding person. He has a very nice people skill and treats his customer very friendly and courtesy. We are extremely happy for a project well done by Tony. We highly recommend Tony for any home addition or remodel.

My husband and I bought over house about 2 years ago and had a string of contractors work on our bathrooms and the process was extremely stressful and frustrating. A lot of the contractors we worked with were unresponsive, not detail oriented and some contractors even charged us with consultation fees. In fact, our last contractor goofed up on the original quote that he gave us and ended up charging us so much more than the agreed upon quote. When it was time to start our kitchen remodel, we were very wary of contractors. However, Tony made the process so easy. He strongly believes that the remodelling process shouldn't be stressful, it should be fun and enjoyable. Tony was super responsive and very communicative. He truly has respect for his customers and their home. As a result, he and the men who work for him kept our house clean throughout the process and even cleaned out the floors and cabinets, so that there was absolutely no dust (from the demolition and construction). This was something that no other contractor did for us. I feel like Tony's prices were very reasonable and he was up front with the pricing. He is very detail oriented and my husband and I are extremely happy with the final results. My only regret was the I didn't find Tony sooner! Thank you, Tony for our beautiful kitchen!! :)

We worked with Tony and his team about 4 years ago after we closed on the house we are living in now. Tony provided us with a reasonable quote and we started on the project right after we got our keys. We had foundation issues so it was a pretty big project. We also decided to rip out the carpets and install hardwood floors, recessed lighting and painting for the whole house. He personally came with us to pick out the materials. His team did such an exceptional job with the renovation and even surprised us by waxing our kitchen original hardwood floor for us!! His team was hardworking and efficient and they finished the job with the estimated time Tony provided us. We were very anxious to move in to our new house.. After the job was done they cleaned up everything for us so all we had to do was move in. We loved working with Tony, he is on our speed dial when and if we are ready to renovate the bathrooms and kitchen.

    major master bathroom remodel
    $15,500
    21 days

Tony and his team recently finished a master bathroom remodel for us. Let me first say that Tony was a pleasure to work with, and that is a statement that I have almost never made with respect to remodeling or other substantial contracting work. When Tony first spoke with us, he said that remodeling should be an enjoyable experience - I was skeptical at first, but Tony has fully delivered on his promise to make it just that.

He was honest and forthright about the time and cost of our remodel; no delays, no unexpected charges. And this was not an easy task - when Tony originally bid on the job, he had 4 workers under him, but he had only 2 by the time our job started a month and a half later. Tony and his truncated team worked extra hours and weekends to stay true to the timeline he set for us, and he still came in on-time and on-budget. All the more impressive because of the very reasonable cost of the job!

What made our experience with Tony truly top-notch though was the quality of workmanship. We asked for a very detailed tile design using small tiles of several shades and different materials, as well as for the construction of a new shower, taking space from another room. The quality we received was admirable, with small, identical grout lines and transitions from one tile material to the next managed perfectly. The tile-rug and heated floors were also delivered without a single detail overlooked.

Perhaps more impressive still was Tony's responsiveness to unexpected challenges and our requested changes. For example, when we requested that a plumbing vent be moved, Tony did so without hesitation or complaint, despite the additional plumbing required. And when it presented a challenge to properly wire our new electrical switches given a 100-year old knob and tube system to work with, Tony and his team stepped up and delivered.

I could say more still. But to sum it all up, Tony is committed to delivering a luxury quality product to a happy customer at a good price. I don't know where else you will find that combination of values in the Bay Area today.

Tony and his team did a kitchen remodel of our Almaden Valley home before we sold the house to move out of state. He seemed to have just the right expert when it came to cabinetry, tile, and flooring. Our countertops, sink, appliances were all installed beautifully. Along with the back yard, the kitchen helped sell the house. We would choose him again if we had it to do over again!
